SOP 1 After a week of theoretical training and physical preparation, it's time to move on. Your first mission consists of a short training flight with a Light Helicopter in the Huambo area... ...oh, wait! We just receive some extra orders: Taking advantage of this flight, we will be transporting two biologists from the Gove dam, and quickly bring them to Huambo, as they need to catch a connection flight to the North. |
|||
> Depart FNHU, fly south to FNGV (Gove dam), pickup the two men and fly back to Huambo. Aircraft to be used: Light Helicopter or light single engine. Flight type: VFR |

FNMA – Malanje |
...NM |
Your commander is satisfied with the outcome of your first mission. You have everything to be a successful cadet. The new orders are for the team to move to Malanje for a series of exercises in an area with different characteristics... ...So prepare your medium transport plane and head to Malanje this morning. > Depart FNHU, fly North to FNMA (Malanje). Aircraft to be used: Medium transport. Flight type: IFR |

SOP 2 Being in an area of dense vegetation, it is time to practice the VFR flight and know some of the visual landmarks of this part of the territory. Make a visual navigation, using roads and rivers and locate the Calandula falls (Quedas de Calandula). Take some pictures and return to Malanje and report the exact coordinates of the Falls in your PIREP. NOTE: Calandula Falls is an Angolan wonder |

SOP 3 You are now more familiar with this area. But you can not miss one of Angola's most iconic landmarks, which are the black rocks of Pungo Andongo. (Pungo Uá N'dongo). Navigate NorthEast and locate the Rocks. According to the police report, a camp of biologists, was recently set up in that area. Lets use this opportunity and transport some groceries and medicines to the Camp. Return to Capanda. NOTE: the black rocks of Pungo Andongo is an Angolan wonder |

Leg 9 |
FNUB – Lubango |
FNMT – Matala |
|
SOP 5 A report from the the Matala dam project Management, mentions that they need to replace a part of one of the turbines urgently. This piece was being transported by train when a problem occurred on the railway line at a point west of Matala. Your mission is to navigate East and find the Railroad. Follow the line until you find the train and the part. Look for a good position to hoist the package safely and transport it to Matala. You must place the package on the river access ramp for watercraft. The ramp is located just East of the rwy. It is important that you use daylight, as Matala has no night lighting. |
|||
> Depart FNUB, navigate East along the Railroad until you find the train. Hook up the part and fly East to FN18. Aircraft to be used: Helicopter (Heavy) Flight type: VFR |

SOP 6 As you are in Matala with a helicopter, there are a number of other jobs that can be done. Help the company do a new survey of the reservoir for the environmental impact study. Do you remember the photographer and biologist Kostadine from Gove and Capanda missions? Yes, he is already waiting for you, at the river access ramp. |

Leg 11 |
FNMT – Matala |
FNUB – Lubango |
...NM |
This helicopter is still needed here in Matala, but you have to follow your program. Since the helicopter will be staying longer here, it is the ideal time for the Dam Company's Amphibious plane to make its checks. AS you don't have your helicopter, take the plane and fly to Lubango and join your squad. > Depart FN18, fly West to FNUB Aircraft to be used: Light Amphibious Flight type: VFR/IFR |

SOP 7 The Amphibious of the Matala Dam Project is ready after the Check. We were asked to dispense one of our pilots to make the test flight. As this is an Amphibious model needs to be tested in pavement and water runways. At the moment these tests cannot be done in Matala, as dredging works take place in the area of the reservoir. Your mission is to take this plane to the Ruacana Dam on the border with Namibia, locate the waterway on the north side of the dam and do the necessary tests. |
|||
> Depart FNUB, Fly South to FNRC Aircraft to be used: Light Amphibious Flight type: VFR |

SOP 9 It looks like they have information about species forgotten in the Bay of Tigers (Baía dos Tigres). So, requested a flight there, to try to find such species. We know that the Bay of Tigers (Baía dos Tigres) is a longtime abandoned place and as such, we do not have precise data. But we know that in the abandoned town there was a runway and a few landmark buildings, such as churches and factories. Try to locate the town. The runway should be in town (it must be covered in sand) or locate some other safe place to land. Keep the engines running, you never know!!! Return to the camp at Tómbua. NOTE: The Bay of Tigers, is an iconic place of Angola, considered one of the most abandoned places in the world. |

FNCV – Cuito Cuanavale |
...NM |
After a good night sleep in Ondjiva, it is time to continue the flight to Cuito Cuanavale, which will serve as a base for the next missions.
Cuito cuanavale is in the southern east of Angola, near the Caprivi Strip, where the Okavango Delta begins, fed by two of the main rivers of Angola, the Cuito River and the Cubango River. Kostadin team will do a detailed survey of the Fauna and Flora of this region and the repopulation of animals that has occurred in recent years. Our team, having done recent work with these biologists, was chosen to continue supporting their expedition. We will be based at Cuito Cuanavale. > Depart FNGI, fly East, NorthEast to FNCV Aircraft to be used: Medium Transporter Flight type: IFR |

> Depart FNCV, navigate south along the river and use ABAPU fix as a Navigational reference, to help you locate the Mission, which is a few miles East of that point, on the southern bank of the Cubango River. Land on the river to drop off the team. As your aircraft has limited range, fly directly to Rundo (FYRU) in the vicinity, to see if you can refuel there. Aircraft to be used: Light Amphibious Flight type: IFR/VFR |

As the expedition is going down the river, the closest meeting place is at Rundo, where they can make a stop. Your mission is to get on the plane and bring the samples to Angola. On our return to Angola, we have orders to fly over the locations of Dirico, Luiana and finally land in Mavinga, to assess the operational condition of these runways. |
